St. Paul Children's Center Expansion
Parents of our youngest parish children have been begging us to expand the enrollment capacity of St. Paul's Children's Center. They appreciate the high-quality, licensed, full-time day care experience the Children's Center offers for infants, one-year-olds and two-year olds.

In response, on December 14 we began construction inside the Parish Center to allow us to increase our capacity from 38 to 47 children, a 24% expansion of capacity. Once renovations are complete, by early in the New Year 2012, we will have space for 12 infants, 15 one-year-olds, and 20 two-year-olds. This renovation requires some juggling of offices and meeting rooms in the Parish Center, to create one new classroom and expand another.

Parents interested in placing their children in the Children's Center should call 727.822.3481.

Parishioners should be proud of this "pro-life" ministry of St. Paul's Church. We put our pro-life beliefs into effective action by providing a quality day care that eases the strain on hard-working young parents and supports them in their decision to bring children into the world.

To make a financial contribution to support the expansion of this vital ministry, please make your check payable to St. Paul's Church. Please send it to the attention of Msgr. Gibbons, with a note indicating that it's intended for the Children's Center Expansion.

Installation of Garden on North Side of Church
In 2006, in conjunction with the renovation and refurbishment of our church's interior, we re-landscaped the "Grotto Garden" on the south side of the church. Pavers were installed, along with lush new landscaping.

Budget constraints at the time prohibited a similar project on the north side. That northern exterior, between the church and the convent, remains bare of landscaping. The old asphalt driveway is unsightly and deteriorated.

Five years have passed, and Msgr. Gibbons has been working on a plan to upgrade----finally----that north side. Pavers in an attractive layout will replace the asphalt. Trees and shrubs will be planted, and sprinklers installed. The focal point of this new garden will be an outdoor statue of St. Francis of Assisi, patron of our beloved Franciscan Sisters.

This project will provide an exterior environment worthy of the House of God. The designer and vendors for the new garden are the same as those who did the Grotto Garden in 2006, so I know that the outcome will be of the same high quality and beauty.

This is a great way to show our gratitude to the many Franciscan Sisters who have served us with incredible dedication since 1930. If you would like to help financially with this special project, please make your check payable to St. Paul's Church. Mark the check "Convent Garden." Please send the check "to the attention of Msgr. Gibbons."

Diocese's Annual Pastoral Appeal (APA) for 2012
All parishioners are urged to make a financial pledge to the APA. The APA funds the apostolic works of the Diocese of St. Petersburg, including education of seminarians; support for Catholic schools, Catholic Charities; professional support for parishes on real estate, insurance, legal, construction, and administrative isues; support for the Holy Father, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and Florida Catholic Conference; and offices for religious formation and liturgy. Any funds given by St. Paul's parishioners to the APA reduces dollar-for-dollar the parish's assessment obligation to the diocese, thus directly benefitting the parish financially. To make a pledge, click on ONLINE PAYMENTS on this home page, then click on "Pastoral Appeal Gift."

Parishioner Address/Email Updates
We are currently updating our Parish database and would like to include parishioners e-mail addresses. Address change/update cards are available in the pews and in the back of the church or you can make these changes online. If you have a change of address click here or if you are simply registering your email address you can do that above.
**Address updates are for existing members of the parish. If you have not joined the parish yet you can do so on the first Sunday of the month by attending the information meeting held in the Parish Center after the 9:30 a.m. mass.**

**Not all parish events will be listed here. Please also check the bulletin.**
