St. Paul Green Team
In 1965 the Second Vatican Council stated that to carry out its task, "the Church has always had the duty of scrutinizing the signs of the times and of interpreting them in the light of the Gospel". In recent years the Church in all of its parts, from the Vatican, to bishops' conferences, to religious orders, to local parish social justice ministries like our Green Team, have been reading the signs of the times related to the environment, especially global climate change, and reflecting on these in light of the Gospel.

Our parish family is joining in the Catholic Climate Covenant which is being launched by the national Catholic Coalition on Climate Change, a common effort of national Catholic organizations, including the Franciscan Action Network, and of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. This Covenant offers us an opportunity to honor God’s creation and to stand with people living in poverty who are facing the worst impacts of climate change. And it gives us another way to live out our commitment to be a Stewardship parish.

At the center of the Covenant is The St. Francis Pledge to Care for Creation and the Poor. St. Francis of Assisi is the patron of the environment and patron of our Franciscan Sisters of Allegany.

Prayerfully review the Pledge and the Covenant checklist with your family and check the steps you plan to start taking during this Easter season. Post the checklist where you will see it daily. Complete the bottom portion and return it in the collection, or email your response to Diana Jordan at djordan48@tampabay.rr.com.

We encourage you to share your pledge steps with your small Christian communities and in your ministry meetings during Easter season. Then on Pentecost Eve, at the end of Easter season, we will join as a parish family for a potluck, to celebrate the steps the Spirit has helped us take and to learn how we can continue caring for creation and the poor in the ongoing Catholic Climate Covenant. Website Job Board
Due to the difficult economic times, many parishioners have found themselves out of work. As a parish community we would like to do what we can to help these parishioners in their job search. One way to do this is to start a job posting web page for parishioners on the St. Paul website. Available positions with job descriptions as well as skills of parishioners seeking employment would be posted here. Parishioner names and contact information would not be posted on the website, but would be available by emailing the parish office. If you would like to participate please click here if you have available positions or click here if you are seeking employment and complete the form. We will notify you once the listing is posted. To check the job board click here.

Parishioner Address/Email Updates
We are currently updating our Parish database and would like to include parishioners’ e-mail addresses. Address change/update cards are available in the pews and in the back of the church or you can make these changes online. If you have a change of address click here or if you are simply registering your email address you can do that above.
**Address updates are for existing members of the parish. If you have not joined the parish yet you can do so on the first Sunday of the month by attending the information meeting held in the Parish Center after the 9:30 a.m. mass.**
